You Train & Learn by

Yoga teacher training here is residential, you stay on the ashram grounds in Ghachowk village, eat three vegetarian meals from the farm, and sleep in a shared or private room.

Days are full and structured, study and teaching practice through the day, and mantra and meditation in the evening. You are not fitting a course around a holiday. For two to four weeks, the training is the day.

By the end of a course here, you can plan and sequence a class, cue it clearly, and give hands-on adjustments. You will know the reasoning behind the practice, its anatomy, breath, and philosophy, well enough to answer a student's question and not only demonstrate a pose.

On the 200 and 300 hour courses you also finish with a Yoga Alliance registered certificate that lets you register as an RYT and teach internationally.

That comes from practising teaching, not watching it. The course is residential and full time for three to four weeks, so you teach real sessions, get observed, and fix things while a teacher is standing next to you. You leave having already taught a class, which is the difference between holding a certificate and being ready to use it.

Why train here

What sets Bodhidham apart.

A handful of things you will not find at most schools — small cohorts, lifelong access, and the ashram that becomes a second home.

Lineage, not franchise.

Swami Ananda trained in the Himalayan tradition. The teachings come from a line of teachers, not a corporate manual.

Small cohorts, real attention.

Maximum 14 students per cohort. Every asana correction is hands-on.

Philosophy-first, asana-deep.

Patanjali, the Bhagavad Gita, Hatha Yoga Pradipika. The frameworks first, the postures second.

Yoga Alliance verified.

RYS-200 and RYS-300 registered. Your certificate is recognised worldwide.

Lifelong access, lifelong family.

Ask or Ping Swami Ananda for any queries months/year after you took the classes.

All-inclusive, no extras.

Bodhidham is a truly special place. I joined the 200-hour YTT and it was the best decision of my life. Swami Ananda is an extraordinary teacher — knowledgeable, kind, and deeply committed to authentic yoga. The ashram environment, the organic food, the mountain views... everything was perfect. I left with skills, confidence, and a profound inner shift. Highly recommend to anyone serious about yoga.

Attended the Silent Meditation Retreat and it exceeded all expectations. The silence was challenging at first but became deeply nourishing. The structure was perfect — yoga, meditation, philosophy, walks in nature. Swami Ananda's dharma talks were the highlight. I have attended many retreats in India and Europe and Bodhidham stands out for authenticity, warmth, and the incredible natural setting.

The 100-hour YTT at Bodhidham was an incredible experience. Despite being shorter than a full 200-hour program, the depth of teaching was remarkable. I learned more about real yoga in 11 days at Bodhidham than in years of studio classes back home. The environment — the village, the mountains, the organic farm, the community — creates the perfect conditions for deep learning. Already planning to return for the 200-hour.

Bodhidham exceeded all my expectations. The Yoga Trek was an incredible combination of physical challenge, natural beauty, and deep inner practice. Doing yoga at sunrise on Poon Hill with the Annapurna range in front of you is an experience that defies description. The guide was expert and the daily yoga sessions were adapted perfectly to our physical state after trekking. Absolutely magical.

I came in thinking mantra was a bit esoteric. By day four I was chanting on the bus back to the airport. The most practical meditation tool I've ever been given.

I spent 3 weeks doing the 200hr YTT at Bodhidham and it was truly life-changing. The teaching is authentic and deep — not just postures but the full philosophical and spiritual dimension of yoga. The location in Ghachowk is stunning. Waking up every morning to Himalayan views and birdsong sets the perfect tone for practice. The food is delicious and healing. I returned home a different person.

Best retreat experience I've had. The ashram has a beautiful family atmosphere. Teachers are genuinely experienced and caring. The food is outstanding — all organic, freshly prepared, and absolutely delicious. The mountain views are unreal. I came for a 7-day retreat and extended by another week because I didn't want to leave. Will definitely return.

I came to Bodhidham for the singing bowl and sound healing course and it was one of the most extraordinary experiences of my life. The instructor's knowledge is encyclopedic — history, technique, therapeutic application, the spiritual dimension. The sessions in the ashram garden at dusk with the Himalayan backdrop were genuinely magical. I left with a professional-level skill and a beautiful Nepali hand-hammered bowl. Unforgettable.

I attended the Detox Yoga Retreat and felt genuinely renewed by the end of the 7 days. The Ayurvedic diet, the daily yoga and pranayama, the kriyas, the mountain walks — it all worked together seamlessly to produce a sense of lightness and clarity I haven't felt in years. The teachers are knowledgeable, caring, and genuinely invested in each participant's wellbeing. The ashram is beautiful and peaceful. Highly recommend.

I'd tried Vipassana once and struggled. Mantra gave me something for the mind to do — the first time concentration felt accessible rather than a test I was failing.

The two nights of silence landed me somewhere I haven't been since childhood. Not mystical — just genuinely quiet. Came home unable to small-talk for a week.

This is the real thing. Not a yoga resort or a wellness hotel, but a genuine ashram with genuine teachers in a genuinely beautiful natural setting. The 300-hour advanced YTT was rigorous, comprehensive, and transformative. Swami Ananda and the team pushed us hard and supported us completely. I left as a significantly more capable and confident teacher. Best professional development investment I have ever made.

Questions, answered

Before you book

Which course should I choose, the 100, 200, or 300 hour?+
The 200 hour is the standard route into teaching and the right starting point for most people. It is a full Yoga Alliance teacher training and qualifies you to register as an RYT 200. The 100 hour is a shorter 11 day foundation, suitable if you want something deeper than a retreat but are not ready for the full 200 hours; on its own it does not make you a registered teacher. The 300 hour is an advanced course for people who already hold a 200 hour certificate. If you are unsure, message us with your background and we will tell you which fits.
Do I need teaching experience or an advanced practice to enroll?+
For the 100 and 200 hour courses you need neither. A regular personal practice and a genuine interest in learning to teach are enough, and the course is built to take you from practitioner to teacher. The 300 hour course is different: it requires a completed 200 hour certificate, because it builds directly on that foundation.
Is the certificate recognised, and can I teach with it afterwards?+
Bodhidham is a Registered Yoga School with Yoga Alliance at both the 200 and 300 hour levels. After the 200 hour course you can register as an RYT 200, and the 300 hour course, taken after a 200 hour, counts toward RYT 500 registration. That registration is recognised internationally by studios and employers. The 100 hour course is a foundation course and does not lead to RYT registration on its own.
What does the price include?+
The price covers teacher training, your accommodation on the ashram, three vegetarian meals a day, course materials, pickup from Pokhara, and your certificate on completion. It does not cover international flights or your Nepal visa, which you arrange yourself. There are no hidden extras beyond that.
What is the daily schedule like, and how intensive is it?+
A teacher training is full time and demanding, not a holiday with some yoga added on. Days are long and structured, classes and teaching practice through the day, and meditation in the evening, usually six days a week. Most trainees find it intense, especially the first week. It is manageable for anyone with a regular practice, but come expecting real work.
How do I book, and what is the cancellation policy?+
Booking is done directly with us over WhatsApp or the inquiry form. We confirm your course dates and a clear price, usually with a deposit to hold your place. Cancellation and refund terms are set out on our Booking & Refund Policy page, so please read it before you pay, or ask us and we will explain it.
