Description

The 6 Nights 7 Days Noble Silence Yoga Meditation Retreat at Bodhidham Yoga and Spiritual Retreat Ashram is an intensive silent retreat that uses the ancient and proven tool of noble silence as the container for deep meditation practice. Noble silence — the complete withdrawal from verbal communication, eye contact, reading, and digital devices — creates the inner conditions for the mind to settle naturally, emotions to process, and genuine insight to arise.

Over seven days, participants are guided through a structured daily rhythm of sitting meditation, walking meditation, hatha yoga, pranayama, and restorative practices. Three core meditation techniques are taught and developed throughout the retreat: Vipassana (insight meditation), Anapanasati (mindfulness of breathing), and Metta Bhavana (loving-kindness). As the retreat progresses and silence deepens, most participants notice a significant shift in the quality of their awareness — a quieting of mental noise and a growing sense of ease and presence.

Silence is entered gradually on Day 1 and maintained through Day 6, with mindful speech returning on the final day. Personal interviews with the meditation teacher are available throughout the retreat to support each participant’s individual process. The program is held within the peaceful and spiritually charged environment of Bodhidham, surrounded by the Himalayas and the natural beauty of Pokhara — a setting that actively supports inner stillness.

Some prior meditation experience is recommended. This is an intensive practice retreat and participants should be in good general health and emotional stability. Limited enrollment ensures genuine individual support and a sacred group container.

What You Will Learn and Experience

  • Vipassana (Insight Meditation) – Learn the foundational technique of observing the arising and passing of all physical and mental phenomena with clear, non-reactive awareness. Develop direct insight into the nature of impermanence, non-self, and suffering.
  • Anapanasati (Mindfulness of Breathing) – Develop concentration and present-moment awareness using the natural rhythm of the breath as the primary object of attention.
  • Metta Bhavana (Loving-Kindness Meditation) – Systematically cultivate unconditional love and compassion toward yourself and all beings, softening the heart and dissolving barriers.
  • Walking Meditation – Bring the quality of meditative awareness into slow, mindful movement. Practise in the natural surroundings of the ashram grounds.
  • Hatha Yoga for Meditators – Daily gentle yoga sessions designed to release physical tension, open the body, and support long hours of sitting practice.
  • Yoga Nidra – Experience the practice of yogic sleep — a guided state of conscious deep rest that supports integration and profound physical and mental restoration.
  • Noble Silence – Practise complete withdrawal from verbal and non-verbal communication, electronic devices, and external stimulation, creating the ideal conditions for deep meditation.
  • Body Scan Practice – Develop refined sensitivity to physical sensations throughout the body, cultivating the foundation for Vipassana practice.
  • By the end of this retreat, you will leave with an established meditation practice, direct experience of silence as a healing tool, and clear guidance for continuing your practice at home.
